Adrenaline hunting in Budapest!
Budapest is worth visiting for a weekend of adrenaline rush to release everyday stress.
Due to its exceptional variety, Budapest is and adrenaline-booster by itself, but the experience can be enhanced with thrilling activities. It is not a problem if the weather becomes rainy; you will fine exciting indoor activities.
DINOS, HORROR, CAR RACING
For instance, you can spend time in a virtual theme park which offers an adventure among cursed pyramids, dinosaurs in virtual reality. You can become a car racer or ride a horror roller-coaster. But what if zombies launch an attack?
LET’S ESCAPE!
It’s a Japanese invention but it became a real business success in Budapest – what is it? The escape room. Escape rooms have appeared worldwide in the past decade, many of which are operated by Hungarians. In Hungary, dozens of companies operate escape rooms; in Budapest the most popular ones are pathways built upon the most varied themes. The point is to escape from the room by solving a problem, requiring thinking, logical reasoning and cooperation. The theme may be based on films: you can set out to solve a mystery, impersonating Sherlock or Indiana Jones, or you can get trapped in Chernobyl or be transferred into a world of magic.
LET’S THROW!
If you are out in the open again and at ease, why not channel the momentum of escaping to a little axe throwing? Yes, it does exist. What’s more, even championships are organised! The European Championship of Knife and Axe Throwing, for instance, took place in Hungary in 2017. This sport, of Canadian origin, can be pursued in Budapest as well. Playing either individually or in teams, you can quickly realise that it’s not as easy to throw an axe as you would think based on what you have seen in films.
REFLEX
You will need both your hands in Budapest’s Pinball Museum. Playing pinball is an excellent closure for a day in Budapest, full of adrenaline. You can test your reflexes by playing the world’s most special pinballs way into the night. Did you know that pinball was banned in certain places for a while? It was thought to be a way of gambling, rather than a game testing your skills.
